Mr. Pownall is a Senior Vice President and Global Head of Upstream at EIG, and a member of the investment team. He manages EIG’s upstream investment activities globally, with primary responsibility for leading upstream credit underwriting across EIG’s direct lending platform, MidOcean Energy’s U.S. LNG investment opportunities, and supporting asset management for the firm’s Peru LNG and Repsol investments.

Prior to joining EIG in 2021, Mr. Pownall was a Reservoir Manager at Silverado, an EnCap-backed portfolio company. Before Silverado, he served as Asset Lead for Newfield Exploration’s STACK play in the Anadarko Basin. Mr. Pownall graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering.
